The Player Ratings system is intended to rate individual players according to their best finish in any VEBT or FIVB tournament. This is the primary basis of seeding in tournaments and is intended to ensure that players are generally seeded according to ability.
Ratings range from "AAAA" for a player who has competed in an FIVB World Tour main draw, down to a "C" Rating for novice level players. See table below for the full list of Ratings.

The Ratings are earned according to results in tournaments and remain current for a player for 12 months.
The Player Points System is intended to provide an overall national ranking for the current season. The Player Points form the secondary basis of seedings in tournaments. The sum of Points of the 2 players in a team allow seedings to be determined where teams have equal Player Ratings.
The Points are earned according to results in tournaments and remain current for a player for the current season only.
All teams / individuals eliminated at the same point in a tournament will be allocated the same points, that of the highest placing of the bracket. E.g. In a double elimination draw 7th & 8th are eliminated together so both teams will be allocated the points for 7th.
See Players' Handbook for a more detailed explanation of points and ratings, together with illustrative examples.
