Volleyball England

Event Team

Want to be involved in the biggest domestic event of the volleyball calendar?  Well we need your help!! The National Finals like all major and even small events only happen due to the tireless work of volunteers and event staff.

With more international matches being held in England and in particular Sheffield this is a chance to learn the trade and be involved in much larger events in the future. Whether you are a seasoned volleyballer, new to the sport or don’t even play there is a role for you.

What roles can I do?

Court Manager
Help one of our seasoned volunteers run the court with responsibility for all the court equipment and liaising with the referees, teams and courtside assistants as required.

Team Liaisons Be the face of the event for the teams.  You will meet them on arrival and be part of their experience from beginning to end. Acting as a link between the teams and the event organizers you will be on hand to show the team around the venue, ensure they are in the right place at the right time and answer any questions they may have.  Don’t worry though there is always help on hand in case you don’t know the answers.

Information & Ticket Desk
Be the face of the event to the spectators. You will be responsible for selling tickets and acting as a port of call for spectators wanting to know start times, venue layout and the child protection photography register.

Ball Retrievers & Floor Moppers
Be part of the on court team with the best seats in the house.  Are you aged 14-18?  Courtside assistants are key to the smooth running of the matches with a 3 ball system in use and moppers required to mop up any wet spots between points and sweep the court in timeouts and between sets.

Game Stats You will be part of a team providing stats on the game and live scores.  This role in particular is a key role as we move into hosting more international matches with stats required for all major international tournaments.

What do I get in return for volunteering?

Volleyball England will cover your travel expenses, provide you with lunch at the event and an event tshirt.  You will gain an invaluable experience of the event and have the opportunity to volunteer at future domestic and international events.  Volleyball England are initiating the formation of 3 major events units – north, central and south so there is plenty of opportunity for the future to stay involved.

How do I get involved?
