This award will create a clear pathway for young people into officiating. It will sit in the current officiating pathway below Grade IV (J) standard

Where can the young people use this award?

Upon completion, the young people are able to officiate at all events that comply with the Lets Play Volleyball formats including:

Inter-school events
Intra-school events
Let's Play Volleyball festivals

How is the award structured and assessed?

The Young Referees Award is a 6 hour course.
It will consist of mainly practical based activities that are fun and involving for the candidates. They will learn through actively participating in the course in activities to improve their knowledge of the duties of volleyball officials and they will be given numerous opportunities to develop their skills throughout the day. The day will be structured developmentally, starting with the philosophy of Lets Play Volleyball and its first stage, Volley Sport, working through the developments to Mini Volley and Super Mini Volley.

For completing the award the candidates will receive a full accredited and endorsed certificate from Volleyball England, plus a few other goodies!
