Online drop-in session set for April ahead of AGM

Online drop-in session set for April ahead of AGM

Members keen to find out more about Volleyball England’s 2024 AGM are invited to an on-line drop-in session on Thursday 4th April between 6pm and 7pm.

They are invited to ask questions about the meeting – scheduled for Saturday 22nd June at SportPark in Loughborough (3 Oakwood Drive, LE11 3QF) - by submitting them in advance.

Click here to register for the session and submit questions for the board ahead of time. Please note that questions will only be answered in relation to the upcoming AGM, not general Volleyball England business.

No article changes and Board recruitment

For the last two years, the Volleyball England Board have proposed article changes, presented as one connected block, requiring just a single yes/no vote.

Having reflected and listened to member feedback and after much deliberation, the Board has decided not to table any changes to the Articles of Association at this year’s AGM.

While these article changes were proposed with the best of intentions (such as modernisation and to reflect best practice), the Board is instead focusing on other business.

The Volleyball England Nominations Committee is scheduled to meet shortly to discuss and confirm recruitment recommendations for any Board and delegated authority group vacancies that are open to applications from Volleyball England members.

Further information will be shared on any such vacancies in April, and the papers for the AGM will be circulated at least 21 days prior to the meeting.

Have Your Say web page

As a direct response to requests at the 2023 AGM for earlier and regular member engagement, a new ‘Have Your Say’ page on the Volleyball England website has also been set up.

This lists a range of consultation opportunities open to Volleyball England members and provides a platform for any general feedback.

'Understanding things that are important’

“I look forward to talking to members about the AGM and its importance in keeping volleyball a vibrant, modern and inclusive sport for all people,” said Adam Walker, Chair of Volleyball England’s Board of Directors.

“I would encourage as many members as possible to attend the session, as it will provide the perfect opportunity to put questions to myself and other Volleyball England board members in relation to the AGM.

“Additionally, it provides a great opportunity for us to understand the things that are important to you, and to thank you for your respective ongoing contributions to the sport of volleyball.”
