    The 1st4sport Qualifications Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Volleyball is suitable for those who are keen to become an Independent Coach in a club environment, running practical sessions on their own with an extended knowledge of how to structure a 6v6 game of volleyball.

     

    Course duration

    The learner should anticipate taking at least 3 months to be become qualified as a Level 2 Independent Coach. This period would normally be broken down into the following discrete phases of activity:-

    1. Pre-induction phase where a number of learning tasks are to be completed
    2. On-course phase where micro-coaching, some further assessments and workshops take place
    3. Off course phase that includes a period of shadowing an experienced coach in the club environment
    4. A second on-course phase where further micro-coaching, peer review, assessment and workshops take place
    5. A further off course phase that includes a period of reflective practice coaching at least 4 linked and progressive sessions within a club environment
    6. Completion of a portfolio of evidence that includes assessments and session plans to be submitted within one month of the finish of the on-course phase

    Typically £400 - £450 per learner (prices may vary)

     

    What resources will I receive?

    All learners will receive a high quality resource file including all assessments. This will act as a portfolio of evidence to support this qualification once submitted. In addition, a number of key references will be provided to support core learning outcomes including access to an on-line coach education website.

     

    What will I learn?

    At the end of the course, the learner will:

    • Identify the essential aspects required to plan, deliver and evaluate a series of linked and progressive sessions for players in a club environment
    • Know how to plan and deliver effective sessions that include the essential technical elements of fundamentals, postural control and ball-handling within the context of the game
    • Apply a number of concepts relating to the Physical, Mental, Technical and Tactical elements of the game
    • Analyse the game into its respective parts including defence, attack and transition
    • Demonstrate competence against National Standards for coaches as defined by 1st4sport      Qualifications

    The Grade C Sitting Award is the first step on the Volleyball England Sitting Referee Education pathway. The award provides the candidate referee with the knowledge and understanding of the rules of the game and the fundamental techniques used within the 6-a-side game. The Grade C Award introduces the candidate referee to the technical, tactical, physical and mental aspects of the game.

    The cost of the Grade 4 course is £15 and the minimum age for this course is 16 years of age.

    Course pre-requisite: Candidates should be grade 4 certified

    After completing the initial Grade C exam, referees will be able to obtain higher grades through practical assessments.  An assessment can be arranged through contacting your regional referee representative.

    The UKCC Level 1 Award in Coaching Volleyball (QCF) is suitable for those who are new to coaching, but who have some knowledge of the game and would like to learn how to apply that in a coaching environment. The qualification allows coaches to act as assistant coaches - a role which gives them the opportunity to focus on their own development and gain experience whilst working with a coach who is already qualified at Level 2 or higher. 


    Course Duration

    The standard UKCC Level 1 is a three day course consisting of 3 modules and a final assessment. We also offer some four day courses consisting of the same 3 modules and an additional 1 day Sitting or Beach Volleyball bolt on module, and a final assessment.

    What resource will I receive?


    All candidates will receive a high quality resource file to support the qualification. This will include an induction pack and a coach handbook to support the core learning outcomes along with a candidate pack which contains all of the assessment tasks.
