Disappointment for GB's Mullin and Dampney
14th August 2011
The GB duo started off really well trading points for the first part of the set but the skill of the Brazilians and Vieira's style and flair cost the Brit girl's and they lost the first set by seven points.
In the second set GB came out fighting and again traded points but this time they had a small lead towards the end of the set, giving them a two set point opportunity.
With everyone in the capacity crowd expecting Mullin and Dampney to take it to a third set as they had done in their previous games, Brazil came back fighting taking the next four points, the set and the match.
British hopes now lie with Lucy Boulton and Denise Johns as they take on the USA duo of Kessy and Ross today but life and volleyball go on for Dampney and Mullin as they flew off at 7.30 this morning to play in the Swatch FIVB World Tour.
