CEV Youth Volleyball European Championship 2nd Round

Volleyball England's junior boys and girls squads will be hoping to start the New Year with success as they head straight into the 2013 CEV Youth Volleyball European Championships in Slovakia and the Ukraine. The competition which begins today (3rd January) will be played out over five days of intense volleyball ending on the 7th January.
England’s junior boys will compete in Nitra, Slovakia in Pool C and will play against a number of tough opponents including, Poland, Israel, Portugal, Bulgaria and the hosts from Slovakia. While the junior girls, also drawn in Pool C will face Lutsk facing Latvia, Poland, Netherlands, Austria and hosts the Ukraine.
The players and the coaching staff have been training hard over the Christmas period in preparation for the European Championships qualifiers.
Lynsey Green, Volleyball England Talent Manager commented, "the tournament provides a great learning experience for the whole squad, with a chance to see where they need to be to compete with the best teams in Europe.
“Both teams have hard preliminary pools, but are looking forward to getting on court and competing. It's a tough schedule with four games in five days.”
The Boys finals are scheduled for April 12-21 in Serbia and Bosnia & Herzegovina, while the Girls finals are scheduled for 29 March -0 7 April in Serbiaand Montenegro.
