Try out for the England cadet and junior squads

Representing your country is the ultimate honour for any sportsman or woman. Talented young volleyball players now have the opportunity to reach that achievement as trials are now open for the cadet and junior National Squads.
Hosted at the National Volleyball Centre, Kettering, the trials take place on Saturday January 27, 2018 for the Cadet Girls (under 17) and the Junior Women (under 19) squads. While try outs for the Cadet Boys (under 17) and Junior Men (under 19) are the following day, Sunday January 28, 2018.
The trials are for athletes who are not currently in the England Talent Pathway. All athletes are welcome to apply to trial for the pathway, provided they fulfil the following criteria:
- The holder of a British passport
- Committed to train three times a week at a club
- Able to attend weekend training camps, longer camps during school holidays and travel abroad for training and competition
- For Junior aged athletes: under 19 on 31st December 2018, i.e. born 2000 and later
- For Cadet aged athletes: under 17 on 31st December 2018, i.e. born 2002 and later
During the trials, athletes will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and tactical awareness in game play. There will also be a range of physical tests. All athletes will receive the results of these tests which will highlight each player’s physical profile.

To apply to trial, athletes or their parents/carers need to complete the online registration form. It costs £25 to try out. There is a link at the bottom of the registration form to the online shop where the payment can be made.
The deadline for registering is Sunday January 14, 2018. Those selected for trials will receive confirmation of their places on Tuesday January 16, 2018.
