England Team Managers Wanted

Volunteers are needed to help with the running of the England national volleyball teams.

There are 13 national teams across the disciplines of volleyball, sitting volleyball and beach volleyball. A mix of adult and junior teams, the squads have annual training programmes and play international matches and tournaments.

Wanted - Team Managers

Volleyball England is looking for help to run the teams. Team Managers are needed to help at training camps, competitions and with the general administration and operations of the teams. The role can be a lot of work for one person, so the aim is to find two Team Managers for each squad to share the work.

In particular, Team Managers are needed for the Junior Women, Cadet Boys and Cadet Girl’s, as well as the youth volleyball squads, but if you have interest in supporting any of the teams, Volleyball England would love to hear from you.

The right person

To be a Team Manager, you will need to be approachable, supportive and focused on the interests of the players. You will need slick administration and communication skills – can you Whatsapp, Facetime and message?

Managers need to be able to think on their feet and solve the operational issues that arise on the ground and who understand their Duty of Care to the young people – all while maintaining their sense of humour!

The role takes commitment but is ultimately very rewarding as you will be directly helping drive the success of the England teams and helping to nurture the best young volleyball in the country.

Application process

There is short form to complete so you can tell us about yourself. The closing date for applications is Thursday, March 15, 2018. The application form can be accessed here.

A full job description – which details exactly what the role involves and the type of skills are needed – can be downloaded here

The best candidates will be selected for a video meeting. This will be with the Head Coach, a member of Volleyball England staff and a representative from the Tech and Talent Sub Group so Volleyball England can get to know you a bit more. Interviews will take place over the following two weeks after the closing date, at a convenient time for the panel and the applicant.

Funding specialists

As well as Team Managers, Volleyball England wants to recruit funding specialists across all Cadet, Junior and Senior squads. If you have the skills and expertise to help our national team athletes access local funding and grants, please get in touch. The athletes need help to target local opportunities. They need to know who to approach, what to say, what to expect. Can you help put this proposition together? If you can, please email talent@volleyballengland.org

Volleyball England is an equal opportunity employer and we welcome applications from all sectors of the community.
