UK Women's Police team start their European Championships

The Women’s United Kingdom Police team are in the Czech Republic to compete in the European Police Volleyball Championships.

The tournament sees eight teams from Czech Republic, Belgium, Russia, Greece, Germany, Netherlands, Hungary and Great Britain competing over the next five days.

The format sees two groups of four and with the top two teams progressing to the semi-finals. The UK are in Group B, alongside Russia, Greece and Hungary.

The UK kick off their campaign today against Hungary at 4pm. All the matches, including UK’s opener, will be live on the championships YouTube channel.

Championships Fixtures:

Wednesday 9th October: UK vs. Hungary (4pm UK time)
Thursday 10th October: UK vs. Greece (8am UK time)
Friday 11th October: UK vs. Russia (4pm UK time)

Saturday: Semi-finals or 5th-8th playoffs
Sunday: Championships medal matches

The United Kingdom team qualified for the European Police Volleyball Championships following the preliminary round in June. They are the bottom ranked team in the tournament but will back themselves to cause some upsets and do themselves proud.
