Sue Storey replaces Janet Inman as CEO

After announcing in June that she was to step down, Janet Inman has officially left her position as CEO of Volleyball England.
Sue Storey, who was appointed in August, has taken up her role as the new CEO from Monday 4th November. In a new management structure, Sue will be supported by Deputy CEO Sam Jamieson and Financial Controller Emma Clouston-Jones.
Janet had led the organisation for the last three and a half years and the Volleyball England board were grateful for her stewardship.
Chairman Adam Walker said: “On behalf of the Volleyball England board, I want to thank Janet for all her hard work over the last three years. Without her total commitment and dedication, Volleyball England would not be in the much more robust position we are today.
“I am pleased that Janet will not be leaving volleyball. She will be remaining in a project capacity for a little longer and will still be a key volunteer in the volleyball community. I am delighted that she will be helping to push the Volleyball England Foundation.”
A long-time dedicated volleyball enthusiast, Janet will continue to be an advocate for volleyball and volunteer for the the sport. She is a one of the trustees for the Volleyball England Foundation – the charitable arm of Volleyball England which aims to break down barriers which stop people from having the chance to take part in the sport.
Janet spent time handing over the role to Sue and she is looking forward to working for the volleyball community.
“I am proud and honoured to be taking over the role as CEO, and am very grateful to Janet for her hard work and commitment to Volleyball England,” said Sue. “Her dedication to, and positioning of the sport has helped put the NGB in a stronger place. This will ensure that I will be able to work with the board, the hub team and the wider community to consider the key priorities to support the sport over the next few years.
“I look forward to working with this vibrant community to tackle the challenges and celebrate the achievements that lie ahead.
As Sue settles in, she will be able to draw upon a wealth of knowledge of the sport with Sam Jamieson as Deputy CEO. Sam has been working in the sport for five years having been the Core Market Officer since 2017 and prior to that having worked in the volleyball community as a Volleyball Relationship Manager. While Emma Clouston-Jones has been working for Volleyball England since 2017 and ensures the organisation maintains robust financial systems.
