England’s history

The England men’s side finished second at the 2017 edition of the Novotel Cup in an outing that included a stellar display of 20 kill blocks against tournament hosts Luxembourg – form that the athletes vying for selection are sure to look to emulate, repeat and develop.

Although absent in recent years, the England women’s squad have a rich history at the Cup, with a record sheet including an impressive five gold medals to their name. In 2012, the women even bested hot favourites Germany in a five-set thriller on their way to claiming the title. The fact that the England women’s team had not entered the Novotel Cup for a number of years before their 2012 victory is something to inspire this cohort of England representatives.
