Silvers for England at Novotel Cup

The England men's and women's senior squads got off to a fantastic start to the decade with both teams securing second place at the 32nd edition of the Novotel Cup in Luxembourg.

Returning to home soil with two newly awarded trophies in their luggage, both teams can look back on successful tournaments, with highlights including England besting Scotland on both the men's and women's side of the competition.

England men’s results:

  • Friday 3rd January, 11:30 GMT: ICELAND (1) - ENGLAND (3) (22-25, 25-20, 24-26, 15-25)
  • Saturday 4th January, 16:30 GMT: LUXEMBOURG (3) - ENGLAND (0) (25-22, 25-15, 25-18)
  • Sunday 5th January, 9:00 GMT: ENGLAND (3) - SCOTLAND (2) (18-25, 25-19, 25-17, 19-25, 15-8)

England women’s results:

  • Friday 3rd January, 16:30 GMT: LUXEMBOURG (3) - ENGLAND (0) (27-25, 25-14, 25-18)
  • Saturday 4th January, 11:30 GMT: ICELAND (0) - ENGLAND (3) (13-25, 17-25, 20-25)
  • Sunday 5th January, 11:00 GMT: ENGLAND (3) - SCOTLAND (1) (25-22, 25-21, 12-25, 25-18)
