Pre-release of volleyball film The Witches of the Orient
13th July 2021
Join us for a sneak peak of volleyball documentary The Witches of the Orient before it hits the cinema.
This spellbinding film takes the audience back to post-war Japan to tell the story of the Japanese women’s volleyball team who became known as the Witches of the Orient because of their seemingly supernatural powers on the court.
From forming as a workers' team at a textile factory, to winning a gold medal at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo, the legendary squad embarked on a fascinating journey from the realm of obscurity to the peak of global volleyball, all of which has been captured in this 100-minute documentary.
Ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Volleyball England has partnered with Modern Films to offer volleyball fans a preview of this gripping and playful sports documentary before it hits cinemas on 16th July.
To be a part of our virtual preview screening of the Witches of the Orient between 14th-15th July, visit the Modern Films and purchase your ticket for £9.99. Ticket holders will have 48 hours to watch the film from receiving their viewing link on July 14.
On top of that, two lucky ticket holders will win a commemorative Witches of the Orient t-shirt.
