The Sitting Volleyball Grand Prix: back bigger and better

After over a year without any major sitting volleyball competitions, the premier competition is back! The Sitting Volleyball Grand Prix 2021/22 is due to start on the 19th of September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for sitting volleyball athletes across the country to compete again; it will be great to see the teams back out on the court. With five new sitting volleyball teams online, thanks to support from the Volleyball England Foundation, there’s sure to be a lot of new faces and fresh competition.

There will be six Grand Prix events throughout the season, in September, October, December, January and March. The final will take place in April, when two teams will compete for the title of national champions.

All of the events will take place at the National Volleyball Centre, in Kettering, where there’s a dedicated four-court venue, one of the only of its kind in the country.

Sitting volleyball is one of the most inclusive sports, with players of all genders, ability and with or without a disability all competing together. It’s a skillful, fast and fun game, so why wouldn’t you want to take part?

Let’s bring the Sitting Volleyball Grand Prix back bigger and better than ever. To find out more about the competition and to enter your team, visit the Sitting Volleyball Grand Prix page. The deadline to enter your team into the first event is Monday 6th September.

It’s exciting to see sitting volleyball grow, and there’s still plenty of room for more. If you’re interested in setting up a sitting volleyball team at your club, keep your eye on the Volleyball England Foundation’s website for when the next round of funding applications open.
