Volleyball England and Errea reveal new national team kit

England’s senior and junior volleyball and beach volleyball athletes and Great Britain’s Sitting Volleyball Teams will all be kitted out with striking new kit thanks to a landmark deal with leading sportswear brand Errea.

Under the new technical sponsorship deal, which will run up until 2025, Errea will supply national volleyball teams with bespoke playing and training strips as well as Volleyball England branded clothing via a new shop platform hosted by distribution partner L4 Teamwear.

At the latest England Junior and Cadet training camp at the National Volleyball Centre in August, England talent pathway athletes were among the first to get their hands on the fresh kit.

England U19 player Freya Lorkin, of Boswells VC, said: “I like both the kits, especially the playing tops and shorts, and can’t wait to get the opportunity to play in them for England.”

England U17 player Oliver Tuck, also of Boswells VC, added: “I’m really excited to wear the new kit. The intricate details on the red and white game kits are subtle and nice. It’s a modern take on the old kit and I’m really excited to represent England in it.”

Kit for England’s indoor volleyball athletes embraces the iconic red and white shirt that has proudly been worn by England teams for generations with a modern twist: a soft yet detailed pattern of the England rose across the centre of the front and reverse of each shirt. An eye-catching design.

The GB sitting volleyball team’s kit draws on the bold blue, red, and white of the Union Jack. The shirts have distinct over-the-shoulder stripes and, like the indoor kit, are finished off nicely with the famous Errea emblem.

A trio of beach volleyball jerseys – red, blue and white – were also showcased by England’s beach volleyball teams at the Commonwealth Games Funding Tournament back in May.

During lockdown Volleyball England spoke to several potential suppliers about a new kit deal. What Errea brought to the table topped all the offers.

Tim Barnard, Head of UK Operations at Errea, said: “We are delighted to become the new technical partner to Volleyball England. The sport of volleyball is deeply embedded in the Errea heritage as our partnerships with numerous national associations including Italy, France, Belgium, Holland, and Croatia demonstrate. In addition, we supply a large number of professional clubs across Europe.

“Throughout our discussions, Volleyball England have expressed a real desire to drive the game forward at all levels and we look forward to playing our part and helping member clubs over the next four years.

“The new Volleyball England on and off-court ranges utilise a variety of tried and trusted technical fabrics that have been used extensively across the game. The new competition shirts are manufactured in the same fabric used by the French Olympic gold medal team in Tokyo.”

Errea Sport is at present also the official technical sponsor of the following national teams: Belgium, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Italy, the Netherlands, and Slovakia.

Sue Storey, Chief Executive of Volleyball England, added: “We are delighted to announce this exciting new partnership with Errea, a brand that is universally recognised as being synonymous with quality, expertise and competence in sports.

“We look forward to working with Errea to improve the image and profile of our national teams and support staff.”
