Men's Division Three second-placed teams to be automatically promoted; revised play-off schedule

Men's Division Three second-placed teams to be automatically promoted; revised play-off schedule

The four teams who finished second in the four regions of Men's NVL Division 3 will now be automatically promoted to Division 2, Volleyball England can confirm.

Wigan Seahawks (North West), Leeds Gorse 2 (North Central), Northampton (South East) and Cardiff Panthers (South West) - were due to contest play-off matches for the three available spots in Ashcombe this weekend (27th April).

However, Weymouth Beach have subsequently confirmed to Volleyball England they are to withdraw their Division One team for the 2024-25 season.

As a result of the extra vacant place, the knock-on effect moving down the pyramid means that two of the three teams who finished second in their regions of Division 2 – Lincoln Cannons (North) Hounslow (Central) and Exeter (South) will now be promoted following their play-off round-robin on Sunday.

And below that, the extra place that has opened up in Division 2 means that the four teams who were due to play off for three places now do not need to – all of them will instead move up.

The revised schedule for this weekend’s play-offs is detailed below.
