Vacancy: Strategic Manager (Digital and Communications)

Vacancy: Strategic Manager (Digital and Communications)

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Volleyball Family, the sport is on the rise.

Volleyball, a dynamic team sport, is experiencing a surge in junior participation. While driven, in part, by the popularity of manga series Haikyuu, clubs and local volleyball associations around the country have gone to great lengths to capture and nurture their interest.

At last year’s home Commonwealth Games, the Bello Brothers made history – yet again – by winning bronze in the beach volleyball competition, five years after winning gold at the Youth Commonwealth Games. They are just one of a number of talented beach volleyball teams pushing England to new heights on the world stage.

The country is also blessed to have national team athletes playing in top sitting volleyball competitions in Europe too, last year winning silver in the Bronze Nations League.

Steered by our strategy, The Game Plan, we want to maintain this positive momentum and are looking to recruit a new Strategic Manager for Digital and Communications to help us excite and inspire new and existing participants.

If you love watching and playing sport, and have experience of both managing communications teams and digital transformation projects, we want to hear from you.

As a member of the Volleyball England’s Senior Leadership Team, this Strategic Manager will lead the strategy and delivery of our communications and content output and digital projects.

They will play a pivotal role right in the heart of Volleyball England's storytelling engine. Across our three disciplines of volleyball, beach volleyball and sitting volleyball, they will write about national team success, support clubs to grow, and cover national competitions and events.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working within communications and/or media roles for a sporting organisation or similar field.

In return we will offer the opportunity to be a part of a fantastic team, a salary of between £25,000-£35,000, flexible and hybrid working, and benefits such as discounted on-site gym membership and the cycle to work scheme.
