Volleyball Futures November 2023
Futures Camps give young players the chance to experience an England National Team camp environment and find out what it is like to train like an England athlete.
They get the opportunity to work with England coaches and find out what is expected of an England athlete. They learn about the volleyball fundamentals how to practice them and why they are so important to get right to be a top volleyball player.
About the day:
Develop Team organisation towards Volley4s – U15 Tier 2 competition.
The athletes will be split into two categories, standard play or advanced play.
Each group will participate in 3 training sessions.
Standard play sessions – Athletes with limited/moderate experience of U15 Tier 2 games.
The fundamentals of team organisation (this group will be trained in a diamond formation).
Session 1 – The athletes will be focusing on offence, they will be learning and developing front set, reverse set and spikes with the setter in the middle.
Session 2 – The athletes will be focusing on defence. They will be learning and developing the skills of quality footwork and defence movement organising 1 blocker and 3 defenders.
Session 3 – The athletes will participate in a tournament whereby they will use the skills learned throughout the day.
Advanced play sessions – Athletes preparing to move onto U15 Tier 1 games shortly.
The fundamentals of team organisation (this group will be trained in a 3 + 1 formation).
Session 1 – The athletes will be focusing on offence, they will be learning and developing how to use a middle attacker (position 2) with different tempos as well as different wing spikers and backcourt attackers.
Session 2 – The athletes will be focusing on defence. They will be learning and developing the skills of quality footwork and defence movement organising 2 blockers and 2 defenders.
Session 3 – The athletes will participate in a tournament whereby they will use the skills learned throughout the day.
Booking is now open for the next Volleyball Futures camp for boys and girls born in the years 2009/2010/2011.
The camp will take place on Saturday 11th November (boys) and Sunday 12th November (girls) 2023 at the National Volleyball Centre, Kettering from 9:00am to 5:30pm. The cost is £50. The closing date is Sunday 22nd of October. This is always popular, so please don't wait until the last minute to book.
