London players watch special screening of new Haikyu!! movie

A total of 24 juniors from seven different clubs  - AST Academy, Team SideOut, Wapping Wildcats, London Lynx, Malory Eagles, Richmond Volleyball and Willesden Volleyball – were invited to see the movie ahead of its general UK release yesterday (Friday 31st May). 

They were joined by senior players George Ivanov (IBB Polonia), Jordan Darylmple (Malory Eagles) and Zsofia Palankai-Omoshebi (Darkstar) to get a first peek. 

London Volleyball Association’s Lorraine Hames and Gary Beckford chaperoned the young guests from the city’s clubs and said they had a fantastic time. 

Lorraine added: “It was a brilliant experience. I think the kids were a little bit overwhelmed at first when they realised what was happening and being brought into such a super-cool building. 

“But they loved the movie, which they watched in a private viewing room, and were talking about it all the way home.   

“The Sony people were lovely and it was great to hear that one of them had started playing volleyball in France after watching a different volleyball anime. We’d like to say a big thank you for giving local players such an inspiring opportunity.”
