For Players

Your player membership must match the competition(s) you will be participating in.
E.g if you are playing in the National Volleyball League (NVL) and the Student Cup, you need to purchase both the NVL Player membership and the Adult Player - Student Cup membership.

For Junior Player Memberships (e.g., for NVL Juniors or other junior competitions), members must be under 18 years of age as of 1st September 2025.

For players participating in National Cup & Shield: 

• If you're participating in the National Cup & Shield, you simply need to hold any active membership on VolleyZone. This can be a player, coach, referee, or volunteer membership.
  If you do not currently have an active membership, you can purchase a Regional/Local Player membership, which offers access at a minimal cost.

For Coaches & Referees

All coaches and referees need to have Volleyball England recognised qualifications.

All Coaches and referees must upload their qualifications/certificates on their VolleyZone account. Please refer to the guide here to upload the certificates. 

For Volunteers

Volunteer membership is not mandatory for club volunteers - they will continue to be covered under the club’s insurance and can be assigned committee roles through the club's VolleyZone account without holding an active membership.

However, club volunteers who are acting as team officials or who wish to access free DBS checks or Volleyball England Learning (along with other benefits) will need to purchase a Volunteer/Team Official Membership.
