Sport England show support of Volleyball England's article changes

With the Volleyball England AGM taking place this weekend, on Saturday 25th June, Sport England have shown their support for the proposed changes to the articles of association. Club Chairs, Secretaries and Treasurers have until 5pm tonight, 23rd June 2022, to vote on the changes.

The Sport England Governance team have reviewed the proposed changes to the Volleyball England articles of association, and in a letter to Sam Jamieson, Interim CEO, said they see 'nothing in the proposed changes which would cause Volleyball England an issue with continued code compliance. I hope this provides some reassurance to you.'

Sport England also re-affirmed their 'confidence in Volleyball England's contribution to our [Sport England's] strategy, Uniting the Movement' stating that it 'is reflected in Sport England's investment of £2,122,584 to Volleyball England over the next five years and status as a system partner. All System Partners are expected to demonstrate strong governance and integrity as part of this award agreement.'

Volleyball England affiliated clubs are encouraged to exercise their vote ahead of this weekend's AGM. The voice of the volleyball community is incredibly important in the governance of the sport, so make sure your voice is heard.
