National Beach Volleyball Centre
Volleyball England is due to move its high-performance beach programme to a new purpose-built, year-round National Beach Volleyball Centre – the only one of its type in the country – in the autumn of 2025.
It is based at Birmingham City University’s (BCU) sports headquarters in Perry Barr and will help develop the sporting stars of the future, benefiting elite athletes, students and the local community.
The four-court facility allows UK athletes to continue their training into the winter months and also have the chance to study alongside playing, should they wish.
In addition to providing regular court time for training, it also acts as an outlet for local, regional, national and international activities and events.
The facility has reused sand from the beach volleyball courts set up for 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham– further strengthening the event’s sporting legacy in the city.
