The role of the middle hitter with John Forman
Making the Volleyball England coaching conference a stop on his European tour, American John Forman will offer a unique insight into how to develop the role of the middle player in attack from serve reception, freeball and transition situations. Having coached across England, Germany, Sweden and the US, John is well versed in getting the best out of his players – many of you will know John during his time in the South West where he coached Exeter up the university leagues.
The author of multiple volleyball books and guides John also runs the coaching volleyball website and has teamed up with other coaches on the volleyball coaching wizards project where he interviews coaches from across the world.
Blocking systems and tactics with Vangelis Koutouleas
Originating from Greece, Vangelis signed his first professional contract in 1983 and boasts over 100 international caps. After an illustrious 19-year playing career spanning three decades, he made the transition to coaching in 2002. His first appointment on UK soil came with Polonia London in 2009 where he guided them to their first league title in 26 years after just two seasons – a team who are welcoming him back for the 2019-20 season. He has coached internationally with Cyprus and Great Britain and is the co-founder of SideOut.
Having coached and played at a high level, Vangelis’ clinic will be focused around blocking systems and tactics and will offer an array of tactics and strategies which you can learn and implement into your own sessions. His fresh philosophy will help shed new light on the way you coach.
