CPSU praise for Volleyball England safeguarding
The CPSU, a specialist NSPCC unit, praised the organisation’s approach to gathering feedback and implementing change, recommending this good practice is shared with other sports.
They highlighted the establishment of the Safeguarding Technical Advisors Group (STAG) and the cascading of the Globocol Club Portal to support clubs with reporting and case management as a positive step forward.
Ensuring the Safeguarding Development Plan aligns with the Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) and continuing to work with the established player community were two other areas that were cited for praise.
“Achieving this high rating for another year reflects the commitment and diligence invested in safeguarding,” said Laura Allcoat, Volleyball England’s Strategic Manager for Safeguarding and Membership.
“Our efforts extend beyond addressing concerns as they arise; we also focus on equipping and supporting Welfare Officers in fulfilling their responsibilities across clubs, counties, and regions.
“Our new Safeguarding Development Plan embeds safeguarding as a golden thread throughout the organisation, ensuring a safe environment for all while providing the knowledge and opportunities needed to empower individuals in their roles.”
