Support the Let The Players Play campaign with new poster

Volleyball England is actively urging member clubs to get behind the Let The Players Play campaign - with the help of a new template poster.

The campaign was launched in March in a bid to improve the behaviour of parents and other spectators, creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone.

It reinforces the core principles of the Volleyball England Code of Conduct – respect, good sportsmanship, positive support and fair and inclusive participation – using the tagline... Support the game. Respect the officials. Encourage the players.

Among the short-form guidance for parents and spectators is to support positively, respect officials, keep respectful and create the right environment.

At the same time, those watching courtside are asked not to Shout criticism at players, challenge or shout at referees, use abusive or discriminatory language or disrupt play or distract players.

The new social media friendly poster – as seen below and released ahead of the new indoor 26-27 season – explains these guidelines succinctly and can be sent out to club members and players’ parents or guardians, as well as printed and displayed around venues.

Reporting poor behaviour

Any allegations of poor behaviour – whether by players, coaches, officials, or spectators – should be reported immediately to the event lead.

If appropriate, the matter can then be followed up by Volleyball England, ensuring issues are managed consistently and fairly across all volleyball events.
