Volleyball England and SportLoMo enhance partnership to strengthen volleyball’s administration platform

Volleyball England is pleased to announce an extension and series of enhancements to its existing partnership with SportLoMo.

It builds on a relationship that has supported the sport’s membership and competition management systems since 2023.

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving the experience of players, clubs and members, Volleyball England is continually looking at how technology can make engaging with and administering volleyball simpler and more effective.

That process includes ensuring the organisation gets the very best from its existing partnership and take advantage of new functionality and developments as technology continues to evolve.

Whilst still operating within the term of the agreement originally negotiated with SportLoMo, the two parties have worked together to enhance and extend the partnership, responding directly to feedback from players, clubs and members whilst securing additional functionality and value for the wider sport.

As a result, the enhanced agreement will include:

  • Reduced payment processing charges for clubs and members.
  • Greater access for clubs, leagues, counties and regions, who will be able to access the SportLoMo platform without annual licence, subscription or implementation costs, providing access to an enhanced range of club and competition management tools.
  • A new Volleyball England-branded mobile application, creating a more integrated digital experience for players, clubs, volunteers and the wider volleyball community.
  • Greater connectivity across the sport, bringing together membership, competitions, clubs, leagues, counties and regions and improving both the user experience and the quality of data and insight available across volleyball.

The longer-term ambition remains to create a more interconnected digital environment across the sport.

Greater integration will also support areas including governance, safeguarding and workforce management, whilst creating opportunities to explore future functionality such as live scoring, facility booking and enhanced digital engagement.

“Our relationship with SportLomo has developed considerably since we first partnered in 2023 and, rather than simply accepting the functionality that existed when the agreement was originally negotiated, we have continued to challenge ourselves and SportLomo to make it work better for our members and the sport,” said Charlie Ford, Chief Executive of Volleyball England.

“We want to get the very best from the partnerships we already have and, importantly, listen and respond when our players, clubs and volunteers tell us where their experience could be improved. These enhancements are a direct reflection of that approach.

“For me, the biggest opportunity is connectivity. We want our clubs, leagues, counties and regions to have access to modern technology that makes running and participating in volleyball easier, without significant upfront costs or unnecessary barriers.

“Extending our relationship with SportLomo gives us the foundations to build a much more connected digital ecosystem around the sport, whilst continuing to test, learn and introduce new functionality as the needs of volleyball evolve.”

The enhanced and extended agreement builds on three years of collaboration between the two organisations.

During that time, SportLoMo has continued to invest in products and functionality designed around the evolving needs of Volleyball England and the wider volleyball community.

"SportLoMo is delighted to extend its partnership with Volleyball England for the next five years,” said Seamus Kyne, Founder and CEO of SportLoMo. "Working together since 2023 has given us a deep understanding of Volleyball England's requirements and what it needs from its technology.

"The first stage of our partnership focused on giving Volleyball England the tools to manage the core of their business, including their club network, membership management, competitions and governance tools.

"Now we are putting these digital tools directly into the hands of regional associations, clubs, coaches and players across England. Our focus now is on bringing the wider volleyball community closer to the sport.

"The VolleyZone app is central to this rollout — it will give the volleyball community mobile tools that help them run their daily activities while connecting thousands more people to the game.

"We have worked closely with Volleyball England to understand what players, clubs and regions actually need, and we are excited about what the next five years can deliver. This is a significant moment for volleyball in England, and we are proud to be part of it."

Further information on the enhanced functionality available to clubs, leagues, counties and regions, including guidance and opportunities to learn more about the platform, will be shared ahead of its wider rollout.
