English coaches among those to learn at CEV Coaches' Convention 2023

Elaine Brown, Director of Volleyball at Leeds Gorse, and Darren Lewis, England U17 Girls Head Coach, flew out to the event in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The event targets coaches and physical education teachers from across Europe for those working with children at a grass roots level.
The fourth edition on the convention opened with a welcome from CEV President Aleksandar Boričić and BVF President Lyubomir Ganev, who welcomed more than 160 attendees.
Guest speakers Eric Hodgson, of the USA, and Angiolino Frigoni, of Italy, then respectively explored updated ideas, strategies and frameworks for coaching Youth Volleyball and organising a practice.
There were also other practical and theoretical sessions, as well as workshops, from which the delegates could learn over the course of the two days.
“I enjoyed hearing coaching points, insights and perspectives from speakers, Eric Hodgson and Angiolino Frigoni, and it was fantastic to make connections and share ideas with people working in youth volleyball across Europe,” said Elaine.
Darren added: “I really enjoyed my experience in Bulgaria with the opportunity to meet new coaches/teachers from other European countries.
“The opportunity to watch live practice, with Eric Hodgson and Angiolino Frigoni, was one of the highlights. Both highlighted new and innovative ways of delivering three, four and six-a-side volleyball.”
