Award-winning sports bra brand MAAREE partners with Volleyball England

Volleyball England is pleased to announce a partnership with award-winning sports bra brand MAAREE.

As part of the partnership, domestic volleyball’s top women’s division will be known as the MAAREE Women’s Super League for the 2023-24 season.

The agreement underlines Volleyball England’s commitment to supporting women’s sport and its female members, as well as its shared vision with MAAREE of helping to empower women to comfortably excel in their athletic pursuits.

"MAAREE is delighted to support the Volleyball England Women's Super League for the upcoming season,” said founder, Mari Thomas-Welland.

“Our goal from day one has been to provide as much support to women through their sport, with 80% of us still wearing the wrong size sports bra and getting inadequate support.

“Our partnership with Volleyball England gets us a little closer to breaking down another barrier for women in sport.”

Thomas-Welland, a keen sportswoman throughout her youth, discovered a common challenge shared by many of her female counterparts: the lack of suitable sports bra.

After advising prominent industry leaders as a sports bra tester alongside studying at Loughborough University, she set about crafting a revolutionary bra that would meet women's athletic needs.

Her debut collection in 2018 sold out and MAAREE has subsequently won a number of awards as a result of its continued innovation.

The partnership will see all female players in the MAAREE Women’s Super League receive MAAREE sports bras.

MAAREE will be completing an in-person fitting session at the Super League Opening Weekend (15th October) to ensure each player receives the perfect style, size and support. Virtual fitting sessions are available for those unable to attend.

Outside of the top division, all Volleyball England members will benefit from MAAREE perks and exclusives.

Volleyball England’s Strategic Manager (Get, Keep, Grow), Laura Allcoat, added: “As a sport where women and girls’ participation is very strong, we are delighted to be able strike up this partnership and help support our membership in this way.

“MAAREE are renowned for both their innovation and reliability in order to give women peace of mind when they are playing sport – as underlined by them winning the 'Best in Test Sports Bra' award by Women’s Running Magazine 10 times – and now players in the volleyball community will be able to take full advantage of that.”
