National U16 Championships

The U16 National Championships has changed to a Grand Prix style Competition for 2020-21 due to the impact of Covid-19.

The Competition is open to all schools and clubs with junior teams.  The Competition will run on a two-tier format.

Novice teams are encouraged to enter in Tier 2 with more experienced volleyball teams entering in Tier 1.

Teams will be asked to complete an initial online entry form - to be published in due course.  They will then be expected to confirm their entry and enter via our new online portal www.volleyzone.co.uk.

Venues & Format
Tier 1 - Events 1 & 2; round robin with national travel hosted by entrants
Tier 1 - Event 3; round robin with crossover semi finals and finals with national travel hosted by Volleyball England at the National Volleyball Centre, Kettering.
Tier 2 - Events 1, 2 & 3; round robin with regional travel hosted by entrants

Playing Standard
Tier 1; Experienced teams with record of reaching Last 8s of National Championships
Tier 2; Less experienced teams through to novice teams

Officials
Tier 1 - Events 1 & 2; it's the responsibility of the participating teams to officiate and provide officials
Tier 1 - Event 3; Volleyball England will endeavour to provide up to 4 1st Officials, participating teams to officiate and provide officials where required
Tier 2 - Events 1, 2 & 3; it's the responsibility of the participating teams to officiate and provide officials

Entry Conditions
-All teams must be affiliated to Volleyball England
-All teams and players must register through www.volleyzone.co.uk
-Schools or junior clubs may enter one or more teams in each competition. Tier 1 Teams will be selected from entrants by the Junior Competitions Working Group
-Teams must be willing to HELP or HOST Tier 1 Events 1 & 2, and Tier 2 all Events
-Teams will be notified ASAP after the entry deadline if they're required to host
-Teams withdrawing from the competition may be liable to a fine
-Individual Schools and Colleges must either be coached by a member of the P.E Staff from the school or college or by a qualified coach who is registered with Volleyball England. All coaching staff must be DBS checked
-Junior Clubs must be coached by a qualified coach who is registered with Volleyball England

Please be aware that rules may be amended by Volleyball England and the Competitions Working Group each year. Please ensure all competitors and team staff are aware of the up to date rules.

Team Sheets

Please ensure that your team has completed an official team sheet before every event you compete in. If a player is not registered on the team sheet prior to play commencing they will not be allowed to play.
