VE launches appeal for expert support
4th August 2017
If you've ever wanted to get involved with helping to shape the future of volleyball, here's your chance.
As part of its new approach to developing all three forms of volleyball in this country, Volleyball England (VE) is establishing a Pool of Experts, drawing on the incredible volleyball experience and professional expertise within the volleyballing community.
Establishing the Pool of Experts is part of VE’s stated commitment to work more collaboratively in the future and to give its members a far greater say in how the sport is run.
Every time a new strategy is required or a new project kicks off, VE will look to dip into the Pool for advice and inspiration, fresh ideas and new thinking.
This isn’t just about volleyball skills (although, clearly, experienced players, coaches and administrators will always be welcomed). It’s also about the professional skills and insights which VE requires to help achieve its strategic ambitions. Those skills could range from database management through to graphic design; from fundraising through to stakeholder engagement; from educational development to change management.
All these skills, and plenty more besides, will no doubt be in demand as VE pursues its five strategic priorities of volleyball insights, culture, competitions, futures and environments.
The opportunity therefore exists for suitably qualified and experienced experts to play their part in developing the strategy in those five areas – and to be involved with the numerous projects which will emerge from those strategies.
These are volunteer opportunities but with a far greater focus on strategic thinking and advice, rather than on-the-ground implementation.
If you would like your name to feature within the Pool, simply complete our short survey, outlining the professional skills you believe you could contribute. Once you’re on the Pool list, and if your insights look like they could come in useful on a particular project, the relevant project leader will be in touch.
