A great weekend at the Beach Junior Championships

With the beach volleyball season in full flow, last weekend saw the best junior players in the country star on the sand.

The UK Beach Tour (UKBT) Junior Championships took place at Sandbanks beach, with over 250 up and coming athletes taking part. Hosted by Deep Dish Beach Volleyball, the Championships were contested over four age groups: U12, U14, U16 and U18.

“The talent on show was as fantastic as the weather and displayed an exciting future for British beach volleyball,” said UKBT director, Jake Sheaf. “I want to say a big thank you to all the participants, friends, families, volunteers and organisers for making it a truly great event.

The competition winners were:

U12 Boys:

1st: Ben Sanders & Maks Makowska

U12 Girls:

1st: Heidi Bright & Katie Tuohey

2nd: Molly Quinn & Annabel Newton

U14 Boys:

1st: Dan Huggins & Rob Poole

2nd: Ben Hutchinson & Boyko Neshkov

U14 Girls:

1st: Emilia Berg & Maja Berg

2nd: Eylul Erol & Anja Erminio

U16 Boys:

1st: Enrique Bello & Jake Sanders

2nd: Bartosz Soczewka & Luke Honeybun

U16 Girls:

1st: Lisa Canevari & Izzy Tucker

2nd: Katie Keefe & Beth Morgan

U18 Boys:

1st: Jonathan Drysdale-Anderson & Ben Lucas

2nd: Jake Sanders & Enrique Bello

U18 Girls:
