Indoor season consultation progresses to the next stage

Volleyball England’s Competitions Working Group (CWG) has published its latest consultation on the 2020/21 indoor volleyball season.

The group is working to plan as full a competitions programme as possible for next season and has been in regular dialogue with team secretaries as the guidance from the Government develops.

Now that the Government has given the green light for indoor sports facilities to re-open from 25th July and for team sports to return as soon as it approves detailed safety plans for each discipline, the CWG wants to find out when teams are able to return to their facilities and gather feedback on potential changes to the indoor competitions for the 2020/21 season. Collecting this information is key to our future planning.

The latest consultation also gives the CWG the opportunity to update the community on our latest thinking and some decisions we have had to make.

For example, for the 2020/21 season, we have reluctantly concluded there will be no Cup or Shield competitions.

We have also recently appointed two new volunteers who will bolster our drive to recruit, reward and retain young people through junior competitions, despite the difficulties thrown up by the coronavirus.

Updates on the National Volleyball League, the Sitting Grand Prix and Cup, the Student Cup, the Inter-Regional Championships and Beach Inter-Regional Championships are also included.

The Competitions Working Group’s second consultation document can be viewed in full here.

Please provide any feedback via this survey by 5pm on Monday, 27th July. The form should only be completed once by each team.
