2021 Coaching Conference & Volleyball Futures
15th September 2021
The 2021 Coaching Conference will take place on Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th of November at the National Volleyball Centre.
The same programme will run across both days, meaning you only need to attend either Saturday or Sunday. This means you can pick the day which suits you best, without worrying that you’ll miss out on something.
In an effort to support coaches in attending the conference, after a difficult year and a half, tickets prices have remained the same as they were in 2019, at just £40. To find out how to book your ticket head to the Coaching Conference page.
We have five fantastic presenters lined up for the conference:
Nick Shaffery: Children and Young People Lead for VE, Co-author Volley2s a Guide to Teaching and Coaching Volleyball.
Bertrand Olie: VE Academies and Technical Lead, Co-author Volley2s a Guide to Teaching and Coaching Volleyball, Interim Head Coach for England U17 boys.
Darren Lewis: England U17 Girls Head Coach. Track record of developing young players who go to play professionally and represent England (volleyball futures only).
Craig Handford: Partnership Manager - Cornwall Active Sports Partnership. Former Head of Technical Development/Performance at VE, former Head Coach for England Senior Women.
Steve Mckeown: Senior Sport Lecturer, Carnegie School of Sport: Head Coach Northern Ireland Senior Women Volleyball Team, former England Coach.
Bertrand Olie commented: “The Coaching Conference allows you to easily upskill yourself or to refresh your existing knowledge. It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet with other Volleyball England coaches and talk to conference tutors.”

You may wish to choose your date for the Coaching Conference depending on which group at the Volleyball Futures camp you would like to work with. The Coaching Conference will involve practical work with players attending Volleyball Futures.
The next Volleyball Futures camp will run alongside the Coaching Conference on Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th of November at the National Volleyball Centre.
Girls will attend the camp on the Saturday, whilst boys will attend on the Sunday. We are looking for players born in the years 2008, 2009 or 2010.
Volleyball Futures supports the development of young players who aspire to play for England.
The Volleyball Futures camps give these players the chance to experience an England National Team camp environment. They’ll find out what it’s like to train like an England athlete and what’s expected of them. The players get the opportunity to work with England coaches and learn about the volleyball fundamentals: how to practice them and why they are so important to get right to become a top volleyball player.
If your child or a young player at your club would like to attend the next Volleyball Futures Camp, head to the Volleyball Futures page to download our information pack and find out how to book them on.
