What to expect from the 2021 Coaching Conference

The 2021 Annual Coaches Conference will be held at Kettering on the 6th and 7th of November. This event is designed to support you, the coach, to develop your young players through the delivery of essential Volleyball fundamentals. The workshops within the conference will provide you with an overview of the importance of volleyball fundamentals and a greater understanding of how to implement these within your sessions. Volleyball fundamentals are vital to the long-term development of a young athlete.

The event runs alongside the Volleyball Futures event, a development programme for young players aspiring to play for England. The focus on Saturday 6th is female athletes and Sunday 7th is the event for male athletes. The coaches conference will follow the same agenda on both days.

Agenda

We have two exciting days of workshops planned for the Coaching Conference. Here’s what you can expect.

Session 1 – Overview of Volleyball Fundamentals with Craig Handford and Nick Shaffery.

Session 2 – Understanding how to develop fundamental movement and posture in young athletes with Craig Handford.

Session 3 – Volley2s Volleyball England programme for 7-11 years old with Nick Shaffery.

Session 4 – Understanding how to develop the fundamentals of attack in young athletes with Steve McKeown.

The Coaching Conference is not only a fantastic opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills to bring back and implement in your club. It’s also a brilliant chance to network with other coaches and national team staff.
