COVID protocols protect players at match

Following their National Cup match on the 25th September, Urbond VC discovered that one of their opponents tested positive for COVID-19 the following Monday. Thanks to both of the teams following our COVID guidance, it meant that Urbond players had not come into close contact with any of their opponents.

Depending on how well the protocols were explained to Test and Trace and how well Test and Trace understood them, following our guidelines could have meant that players who otherwise would have been required to isolate, were in fact not required to.

It’s important to recognise that many people are still testing positive for COVID-19, including people who have played in and attended volleyball matches. Cases like this show how essential it is to read and understand our COVID Addendum and recommended guidance. It will help to protect everyone at a match.

Make sure your knowledge is up to date, read our COVID Addendum here and our COVID-19 Guidance here.
