Covid-19: let’s keep following key safety recommendations
3rd December 2021
While volleyball-specific guidance has not changed in the wake of recent changes to the Government’s Covid-19 guidance, Volleyball England is encouraging everyone to continue to follow the key safety recommendations as set out in July.
This small set of safety mitigations will help minimise the risk of transmitting Covid-19 between participants. This includes wearing face coverings, which under new Government rules are now compulsory in shops and on public transport, in crowded spaces.
A recent example, in which a player tested positive after a National Cup match but participants did not need to isolate as Covid-19 guidance was followed and no close contact made, highlights the difference this recommended guidance can make.
Please note that if you’re a contact of someone who may have been infected with the Omicron variant, you must now self-isolate for 10 days, regardless of your age, vaccination status or any negative test results.
We continue to monitor the situation and will provide further updates should the situation change.
