Volleyball England staff step up to new challenges

Staff within Volleyball England’s Hub have switched roles as part of an internal reshuffle.

Rob Payne has been appointed Competitions and Events Coordinator while Vicki Carr has taken up the role of Core Market Coordinator.

Rob, who was previously the Core Market Coordinator, will play a key role in the long-awaited return of Volleyball England competitions in 2021 following a period of cancellations due to Covid-19.

In his place, Project Delivery Team Lead Vicki Carr, who worked closely with the England National Teams, takes on the role of Core Market Coordinator. This position provides essential support to the sport’s network of registered clubs, officials, and coaches.

Both appointments are effective as of 1st March and will last for 18 months while Jonathan Moore is on secondment. Jonathan, our incumbent Competitions and Events Coordinator, is taking up an exciting new role elsewhere, with details of his departure to be announced shortly.

Separately, we are also pleased to announce that Dan Ward, a Project Delivery Team Officer who works across the Talent and Membership Teams, has been promoted to the newly created role of Project Team Delivery Lead for data and insight. Data and insights activities are a key aspect of our planning and future development, as laid out in our 10-year strategy, The Game Plan. Dan also begins his new role on 1st March.

Sue Storey, CEO of Volleyball England, said: “I hope the Volleyball Family will join me in wishing Jonathan, Rob, Vicki and Dan the very best of luck in their new roles.

“Rob and Vicki both have big shoes to fill but I know that with their talent and determination they are more than capable of stepping up to the challenge.

“To achieve the strategic ambitions laid out in The Game Plan, we have to increase the amount of data we collect and the insights available to us. Dan’s new role will be crucial to that work.”

Rob Payne, Competitions and Events Coordinator, said: “I am really excited to take on the competitions and events role at Volleyball England. I see this as a great opportunity to sustain the great work Jon has previously done and bring in some new ideas to further enhance the member experience.”

Vicki Carr, Core Market Coordinator, added: “I am excited to work with our great network of clubs, officials, and coaches to help support them and bring some new ideas to the table. I am grateful for the opportunity and I am looking forward to getting started.”

Dan Ward, Project Delivery Team Lead, said: “I am looking forward to starting my new role. I think it will be a great opportunity to see how data and insight can improve the services we offer to the volleyball community.”
