Meet the Volleyball England Elected Director candidates

Following a recruitment process led by the Nominations Committee, two candidates are being presented to fill one position.
Please note that only affiliated clubs, not individual members, are eligible to vote (though individuals can attend the AGM itself at Loughborough SportPark, 11.30am start).
In order to vote, clubs are reminded that they should first complete the Appointment Form. Full voting information has been emailed out to clubs.
Details of the two candidates can be found below, including a biography and video from each.

Anton Kornilov, MBA, MEng, VE Club Coach Award
Volleyball has been a constant in my life for 45 years – shaping who I am personally, professionally, physically, and mentally.
Over the past nine years, I’ve helped lead Richmond Volleyball Club as an executive committee member, men’s division manager, and junior coach. During that time, I supported the club’s transformation into one of England’s top junior programmes, grew the division membership five-fold, and secured Sport England funding to expand junior participation. Volleyball England twice recognised me as a Volunteer of the Year runner-up.
Professionally, I bring 25-plus years of international leadership at Mastercard and American Express. I have led strategy, commercial and go-to-market teams across Europe and globally; driven innovation in digital payments and Open Banking; and worked closely with board-level governance and regulators. My approach is team-first, driven by insights, and focused on results.
I understand the needs and pressures that clubs, volunteers, and players face – and I’m equally comfortable contributing at board level. In 2024, I stepped down from club leadership to focus on coaching and contributing more broadly to the sport.
I am passionate about volleyball and excited to help shape the sport that has shaped me. I would be honoured to serve our community as an Elected Director.

Jeanne Riot
Hi everyone, my name is Jeanne Riot. I’m a French native who was raised in Lisbon, and decided to move to the UK 11 years ago for work (that’s the official reason – but everyone knows what brings a Frenchie to London is the food and weather). I live in Southeast London, and am the mother of a cheeky six-year-old girl.
My work experience has always revolved around Procurement Operations and Sustainability and I am currently an Associate Director at KPMG, where I lead the Sustainable Supply Chain practice.
My hobbies include reading books and being active in general. This includes volleyball, which I started playing as an adult when moving to London.
I have played in different formats and at different levels – from GoMammoth to the Premier Division – on grass, sand and hard floor.
I owe so much to this sport, thanks to which I have met most of my friends, maintained my fitness and kept my mental health.
