England squads announced for BVF event in Ireland

They will take on teams from the host nation, as well as Northern Ireland and Scotland. 

Women’s and men’s squads will compete between 31st July and 2nd August, with matches live streamed here. 

“The women’s squad is a mixture of the U22 squad and experienced Super League players," said Women's Head Coach Carol Gordon. 

"Our U22 teams participated in the Euro Qualifiers last year in Slovakia and who performed very well against Poland (who finished fifth in main event) and the host team (who finished ninth). 

"Our senior players have been an integral part of the pathway providing experience and leadership. Together we are looking forward to the BVF Nations Invitational and the challenges ahead." 

Men's Head Coach Simon Loftus is also looking forward to the challenge across the Irish Sea. 

He added: "The BVF Nations Invitational will serve (pun intended) as the start of our preparations for the 2027 U22 European championships qualifiers. 

“The opportunity to get these young players vital international experience is a big part of their development the future of the England programme.”
