Applications open for CEV Coaches’ Convention 2026

Volleyball England is seeking a coach to represent the country at the CEV Coaches’ Convention in Portugal this summer. 

The prestigious event will take place from 12th to 14th June 2026 in Viana do Castelo and will be the seventh edition of the convention. 

It will bring together over 100 coaches and PE teachers from various European federations to explore essential topics related to introducing volleyball to entry-level children. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable insights and share experiences with peers from across Europe.  

Previous attendees from England include Timothy Clifford and Ben Fairweather (North Macdeonia, 2022), Elaine Brown and Darren Lewis (Bulgaria 2023), Jane Ashbrook and Dave Gunter (Bulgaria, 2024) and Stephanie Coroi and Nick Sampson (Croatia, 2025). 

 

Criteria for eligible candidates 

  • be actively coaching juniors  

  • hold an active coach membership with Volleyball England.  

  • be in good standing with Volleyball England.  

  • be available between 12th and 14th June 2026.  

  • not have previously represented England at this event.

Further information 

In return for their participation, the chosen coach will be expected to disseminate the knowledge and skills they acquire at the convention both locally and nationally.  

Travel arrangements include departure during the day on Friday 12th June and return on the evening of Sunday 14th June. 

 The CEV will provide accommodation, meals and local transfers between Porto International Airport and the venue. 

Volleyball England will arrange flights and offer a bursary of up to £100 for travel expenses within England, including airport parking.  

This is a unique opportunity to represent England on an international stage and contribute to the development of junior volleyball.
