A new way to have your say and stay connected
Connect with Your Board sessions are designed to bring members and directors closer together, creating space for conversation, shared understanding and meaningful dialogue about the future of volleyball in England.
They follow a successful test and learn pilot session held on 2nd April.
Why is this being launched?
Volleyball England understands how important it is for members to feel heard, informed and connected to the people helping shape the sport.
While the AGM remains a vital part of governance, it can sometimes become crowded, with a wide range of topics.
These new sessions are designed to complement the AGM by:
-
Creating more regular opportunities to ask questions and share ideas
-
Making Board members more visible and accessible
-
Encouraging open, constructive conversations about the sport everyone cares about
The ley aim is to strengthen relationships, improve transparency and make sure your voice helps shape the future of volleyball in England.
What you can expect
Each session will be relaxed, interactive and focused on meaningful discussion. You’ll have the chance to:
-
Hear directly from Board members about current priorities and key developments
-
Gain insight into how decisions are made and what’s shaping the sport
-
Ask questions and share your views
-
Contribute ideas and perspectives from across the volleyball community
Whether you’re a player, coach, official or volunteer, your voice matters.
Session dates (2026)
-
Tuesday 12th May, 6pm to 8pm
-
Tuesday 10th November, 6pm to 8pm
All sessions are open to registered Volleyball England members.
To register your interest to attend May's session, please click here. You will be asked to indicate areas of focus for the conversations which will feed into the planning of the sessions.
How to get involved
We want to make it as easy as possible for everyone to take part:
-
Join live and ask questions during the session
-
Submit questions in advance if you can’t attend
-
Take part in interactive discussions and polls
A facilitator will guide the session to ensure everyone has the chance to contribute and conversations remain positive and productive.
A constructive space for discussion
These sessions are designed to focus on the bigger picture - the development of volleyball in England.
If you have specific operational issues, safeguarding concerns or individual cases, we’ll make sure these are directed to the right channels outside of the session so they can be handled appropriately.
Missed it? You can still catch up
We want every member to benefit from these conversations:
-
Sessions will be recorded and shared online
-
All questions and responses will be published afterwards
This ensures transparency and allows everyone to stay informed, even if you can’t attend live.
How this links to the AGM
These sessions are also a great opportunity to raise topics ahead of the AGM.
By discussing broader questions in advance, we can help keep the AGM focused on its formal business, while still making sure members get the clarity and discussion they’re looking for.
Be part of the conversation
This is your opportunity to connect, ask, learn and contribute.
Volleyball England is excited to bring members and Board closer together and hope you will join us.
