2023-24 National Cup draws made

The draw for the 2023-24 season’s Volleyball England National Cup has now been made – with some intriguing ties in prospect.

In the men’s competition, the Preliminary Round has thrown up a Manchester derby as Manchester Marvels 2 host Manchester Moss Side

At the other end of the country, in the ‘Garden of England’, Kent Invicta will welcome near-neighbours Maidstone

In the women’s draw, the London Bears will make the short trip down the M4 to play the Reading Aces

South West club Cheltenham and Gloucester, meanwhile, can look forward to the visit of West Midlands side Wombourne

National Cup preliminary round matches will be played on the weekend of Saturday 9th September (men’s) and Sunday 10th September (women’s).  

Round 1 matches will follow on Saturday 23rd September (men’s) and Sunday 24th September (women’s), while Round 2 matches will be played on Saturday 7th October (men’s) and Sunday 8th October (women’s) - a week earlier than originally scheduled. 

Teams who exit the National Cup during the Preliminary Round or Round 1 will be eligible to enter the National Shield competition (last season’s Shield winners aside,) which begins on Saturday 11th November (men’s) and Sunday 12th November (women’s). 

Seeded teams – including last year’s respective cup winners and finalists Malory Eagles and Essex Rebels (men) and Durham Palatinates and Team Sideout Polonia (women), as well as the other Super League teams – will enter the fray in Round 2.
