Volunteer Leadership Group to boost delivery on strategy
It follows a recommendation made in an external review of the Board, sub and working groups that took place earlier in the year.
The ‘Code for Sports Governance’ requires organisations to have mechanisms in place to promote and support the implementation of essential governance standards, but increased connectivity across all levels of the governance framework also aims to improve performance.
The VLG will meet twice per year in December and April, providing the perfect opportunity to propose and influence changes to Volleyball England’s operations in line with the organisation’s annual planner and board meeting schedule.
It will be made up of the Board, sub-group chairs, the working group delivery leads and a representative of the Volleyball England Foundation who will collectively receive updates, insight and have cross-group discussions on areas of strategic importance.
Deputy Chief Executive Guin Batten, who sits on the group, said: “This is an important step in making sure all parts of the sport work better together and are aligned to The Game Plan.”
“The aim of the group is to make sure each level of Volleyball England’s governance framework is operating effectively and collaboratively so that our vision, aims and objectives can be achieved.”
