British Volleyball Performance Co-Ordinator vacancy

The British Volleyball Federation (BVF) has recently secured National Squads Support Funding (NSSF) from UK Sport of up to £635K over four years targeted at enhancing the performance of our Olympic and Paralympic Senior volleyball squads. This funding brings with it conditions across safeguarding, anti-doping, financial management, corporate governance, equality & inclusion, athlete engagement, coaching and development. The BVF is looking to secure the services of a Performance Coordinator(s) to enhance and lead the operational planning and implementation of these requirements including quarterly progress reports to UK Sport.

The BVF is the national governing body for all volleyball disciplines in the UK.
The BVF acts as a conduit for the home nations (Volleyball England, Scottish Volleyball, Volleyball Wales and Northern Ireland Volleyball) to lobby for funding from the UK’s key government agencies to help athletes compete in elite competitions.

Key responsibilities
· Monitor progress and achievement against the NSSF Projects agreed Goals and Paris Campaign Plan(s)
· Work alongside the relevant Board Advisor for Performance, Performance Management Group and relevant Home Nation staff and volunteers to support the delivery of the Paris campaign plan(s)
· Work alongside the Board leads for Finance and Governance to ensure transparent financial accounting records that detail how BVF funding is spent against agreed Performance budget forecast
· Co-ordinate athlete engagement including but not exclusive to; induction and maintenance of key policies (e.g. selection, grievance, Data Protection, anti-doping, safeguarding etc)
· Co-ordinate athlete engagement including but not exclusive to; competition entry and athlete education
· Co-ordinate selection, recruitment, and performance management of NSSF Project athletes
· Report to the BVF Board quarterly on progress against the NSSF agreement conditions and any other related issues which may arise
· Represent the BVF at relevant stakeholder meetings as may arise from time to time

The successful candidate will be:

Essential skills, experience and qualifications:
· Project management/ co-ordination skills, proven track record of project planning and delivery
· Knowledge of the national and international competition landscape within one or more of the three Volleyball disciplines
· Demonstrable budget management experience
· Knowledge of the statutory framework in relation to safeguarding children and adults
· Sufficient educational attainment to demonstrate ability to carry out the role to the required standard.
· Ability to act with discretion and to maintain complete confidentiality
· Enjoys multi-tasking, is well organised with a high attention to detail
· Service and solution oriented
Desirable skills, experience and qualifications:
· Knowledge of UK Anti-Doping requirements
· Previous experience of Performance Sport and/or event management
· Experience of undertaking corporate governance activities e.g. Companies House notifications, agendas, minutes
· Working knowledge of sport

£150 per day. Expected range between 1-3 days a week depending on need and final scope (IR35 compliant self-employed contract)
