Student Cup 2025-26 season gets underway this weekend

The Volleyball England Student Cup returns for the 2025-26 season starting this weekend (Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th November), kickstarting three consecutive weekends of qualifier action. 

A total of 104 women's and men's teams have entered the competition this year, with matches taking place in Leeds, Loughborough and Ashcombe.

They will be bidding to secure a place at Finals Weekend on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th February 2026 at the University of East Anglia (UEA) in Norwich, which will consist of pool matches on Saturday, followed by the knock-out phase on Sunday.

But first come the qualifiers, which will be staged tomorrow and Sunday at The Edge University in Leeds, which will host pools for both women and men.

Next weekend (15th and 16th November), Ashcombe School will take its turn to stage matches, along with Loughborough University.

Loughborough's Sir David Wallace Sports Hall will also host the concluding set of qualifiers on 22nd and 23rd November.

Teams will play between three and four matches in their bid to qualify, with the pool winners guaranteed a finals spot, as well as two top English teams from the 2024-25 season and Student Sport Ireland's reigning champions. 

Last season's women's final saw UCL come out on top, beating Imperial College London, while in the men's Brunel University defeated UCL in the final.
