England confirm squads for Beach Nations Cup prelims

The England pairings for the preliminary phase of the CEV Beach Volley Nations Cup 2024 have now been confirmed.

The men’s squad will be made up of Javier and Joaquin Bello (pictured top) – who have recently moved up to a career-high world ranking of 27 (the highest ever for any British pair) – and Freddie Bialokoz and Issa Batrane (pictured below).

They have been placed in a seven-strong pool (C) along with Germany, Estonia, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Cyrus and Moldova that will be contested in Hamburg, Germany from 18th to 20th May.

The women, meanwhile, will be represented by Anaya Evans and Katie Keefe (pictured below) and Kirsty Star and Daisy Mumby (pictured bottom).

They are in a pool (C) that also includes Spain, Norway, Bulgaria, Israel and Cyprus that will be staged in Madrid from 13th to 15th May.

“The Olympic qualification event adds an extra level of excitement to the competition, and our teams are fully committed to progressing, showcasing their skills and pushing for top performances,” said Kirk Pitman, Volleyball England's Beach Performance Director.

The four pool winners in each gender will join the countries that were victorious in the preliminary phase of the 2023 edition - plus hosts Latvia - for the final stage of the Olympic-qualifying competition in Jurmala, from 13th to 16th June.

Winners of the finals stages in the men’s and women’s events will secure a place at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
